Dead by Daylight cheats explained: aura ESP, auto skill checks and how not to get reported

Dead by Daylight is an information game, and information is exactly what a cheat provides. Here is every module in the splatvik DBD build, how each one works, and the settings that keep you off the report radar.

GAME GUIDES

Dead by Daylight is decided almost entirely by information. Which generator is at 80%. Where the killer actually is versus where the terror radius suggests. Whether the hatch has spawned. A player with perfect information wins the vast majority of their matches without ever needing better mechanics.

That is what makes DBD such an unusual cheat target: the raw power is enormous, but the way you get caught is almost never technical. It is behavioural. This guide covers both sides.

The module list

ModuleSurvivor sideKiller side
Survivor ESPTeammates, health state, current actionEvery survivor, through every wall
Killer ESPLive position, terror radius, power charge
Generator ESPLive repair percentageLive repair percentage
Totem ESPDull and hex totems, lit stateHex protection awareness
Hook & chest ESPHook timers, unopened chestsHook proximity planning
Hatch finderSpawn location the moment it existsHatch camping
Auto skill checksGreat checks with variance

The build detects your role at match start and enables the relevant set automatically.

How aura ESP works in an asymmetric game

Dead by Daylight already has aura reading as a core mechanic — Bond, Kindred, Barbecue and Chilli, Nurse's Calling. The game engine has a fully built system for drawing a highlighted outline of an actor through geometry, because dozens of perks rely on it.

That makes the implementation cleaner than in most games. Rather than projecting boxes onto a 2D overlay, the ESP module reads the actor list, resolves each survivor or killer pawn, and marks it for aura rendering through the same path the game's own perks use. The result looks exactly like a perk effect, because structurally it is one.

The practical upside is that it costs almost nothing in performance and it renders correctly at every camera angle, including during animations and mori sequences where a 2D overlay would drift.

Health state and action reading

Beyond position, each survivor pawn carries state you can read:

  • Health state — healthy, injured, deep wound, dying, hooked
  • Current interaction — repairing, healing, cleansing, unhooking, vaulting
  • Carried item and its remaining charges
  • Whether they are currently in a chase

For a killer this is the whole game. Knowing that two survivors are on the same generator, one is healing across the map, and the fourth is cleansing a hex totem tells you exactly where to apply pressure. For a survivor it means never running into a chase that is already going badly.

Auto skill checks, and the variance slider

Skill checks are a reaction test. The game spawns a rotating needle and a success zone, and you press Space when the needle is inside it. A great skill check requires hitting a narrow band at the leading edge of the zone.

The module reads the widget state directly — needle angle, angular velocity, zone start and zone width — computes the exact moment the needle enters the great band, and queues an input for that frame.

Which is a problem, because a human being does not hit 100% great skill checks. Ever. The very best players in the world hit maybe 90% under no pressure and considerably less mid-chase.

So there is a variance slider, and it is the single most important setting in the product:

VarianceGreat rateGood rateMiss rateLooks like
0100%0%0%A bot
3 (default)88%11%1%A very good player
676%22%2%A good player having a good night

The default is 3 and you should not turn it down. The rate at which a killer notices "this survivor never misses" is much higher than people assume, because the audio cue for a great skill check is distinctive and killers hear it from across the map.

There is also a silent mode which removes the need for the audio cue at all on your end, useful if you play without game sound.

Auto skill checks are the module most likely to get you reported, and it is not close. Everything else about a cheat in DBD is invisible to other players. A survivor who hits forty consecutive great checks is not.

Generator, totem and hatch tracking

Generator ESP shows live repair percentage above each generator. This is more useful than it sounds — it turns the mid-game from guesswork into arithmetic. As killer, you stop patrolling a 12% generator when there is an 80% one two tiles away. As survivor, you stop walking across the map to a generator someone abandoned.

Totem ESP distinguishes dull from hex totems and shows which hex is attached. Against Devour Hope or Ruin, knowing which of the five totems is lit before the first chase ends changes the entire match.

The hatch finder marks the hatch the instant it spawns in the world — which is at match start, not when it becomes usable. That is worth knowing: the hatch exists as an actor long before the survivor count drops enough for it to open.

Clear vision

A grab bag of visual removals:

  • Fog density set to zero regardless of the map's fog offering
  • Blindness effects (Third Seal, flashlight blind) rendered transparent
  • Madness visual distortion removed
  • Blood Warden and end-game screen tints removed
  • Optional: remove the killer's red stain (survivor side) or the survivor's scratch marks emphasis

None of these give you information the game does not already provide — they remove obstructions from information you already have. That makes them the safest module in the set by a wide margin.

Performance and stability

DBD is a well-optimised Unreal Engine 4 game, and the build is designed to stay out of the way.

ScenarioAverage FPS1% low
Clean game, 1440p high14198
splatvik loaded, all modules13997

Because the aura path reuses the game's existing rendering, there is no overlay compositing cost at all for the ESP modules. The skill check module runs on a widget-state poll at 240Hz, which is well within budget on any machine capable of running the game.

Safety, updates and the status system

Dead by Daylight uses Easy Anti-Cheat. Behaviour Interactive also does manual review of reported accounts, which is why the behavioural advice in this guide is not padding.

Technically, the build is manual-mapped, HWID-locked and read-only against game memory. The skill check module is the only one that produces an input, and it goes through the input layer rather than writing to the game.

Operationally, the status page reflects live state from our dev channel. When EAC or the game updates, status flips to Updating within minutes, the loader blocks injection, and sales pause until the rebuild ships.

Behaviour: the part that actually matters

Everything above is technical. This section is what determines whether you keep your account.

As survivor:

  • Do not loop the killer perfectly every single chase. Take a hit sometimes.
  • Do not go directly to the hatch the moment it opens. Walk a plausible route.
  • Turn variance up on skill checks. Miss one occasionally on purpose.
  • Do not repair the generator you could not possibly know was at 90%.

As killer:

  • Do not walk directly to a survivor across the map with no scratch marks to follow.
  • Give up chases sometimes. A killer who never commits to a bad chase is suspicious.
  • Do not find every hex totem protector instantly.
  • Vary your patrol routes.

The people who get banned in DBD are almost never caught by EAC. They are caught by four people in a post-match lobby who all report the same thing.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work as both killer and survivor? Yes, and it switches automatically at match start. You can also force either mode in the menu.

Does it work on Steam and Epic? Both, plus the Microsoft Store build.

Will other survivors see my ESP? No. Everything renders client-side. Nothing is transmitted to the server or to other clients.

Can I stream with it? Stream-proof rendering covers the overlay elements. However, aura rendering uses the game's own path, which means it is captured. Do not stream with aura ESP on.

What happens on a patch day? Status flips to Updating, injection is blocked, and your subscription is credited for the downtime automatically.
